Pop quiz, hot shot!

Should you, or should you not print out your cards using your home printer on that nifty perforated card stock?
(Here’s a hint: no!)

It may be convenient and very tempting to do this, especially since you’d have completed cards right then and there, but it’s much better to get them printed by a professional printer. This is just as important as the very design printed on it. In fact, printing on your own might actually detract from your design!

Let me ask you; what do you think when somebody hands you their card printed on that flimsy, perforated paper? It might cross your mind that if they don’t care for the detail of professionally printed cards, there might be other areas that they cut corners in. I personally wouldn’t want to take that chance.

While it’s true that printers have greatly improved over the last few years, you can definitely tell when something is produced professionally or at home. Next time you’re tempted to crank out some cards on that handy-dandy ink jet of yours, consider having a professional do it instead. After all, that is what they do best. You can find many companies online that offer reasonable prices. You might also think about supporting a local printer right in your own town. When they do a great job on your cards, you’ll be more than happy to give them your other promotional materials as well!
